Kryovrysi (Greek: Κρυόβρυση, meaning cold spring) is a village in the Ioannina regional unit in Greece and the municipal unit of Perama 19 km from Ioannina. In 2001 its population was 153 people. The GR-6 (Volos - Larissa - Ioannina - Igoumenitsa), the old road is 3 km south in Mazi and the Egnatia Odos, the new highway runs near the village with its nearest interchanges in Lachnades and halfway between Ioannina and Metsovo. It is in the eastern part of the Mitsikeli mountains, it is part of East Zagori.

Kryovryssi is also west of Trikala, Larissa and Metsovo, WSW of Grevena and north of Arta.

About Kryovryssi and History

The area still survives a portion of the old Via Egnatia not far from and edges which was used by merchants and its inhabitants which passed from Mazia and passed through Baldouma. It also features a church and a bridge. Its residents used trade and received sources from the Greek culture to all the Balkan nations.

A pathway which begins from the village and into the whole eastern part of the mountain and drives into a ridge which views the mountain, a gorge and the beautiful Lake Pamvotida.

Until 1991 the population was declining for a few decades that was led by emigration, the population recently recovered in 2001 and lasted for a few years.
